OZZY Says That He Is Afraid Of Drug Addiction Relapse
February 19, 2004Adam Buckman of the New York Post reports that Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that his near-fatal accident last December has left him fearful of becoming dependent on painkillers and wondering if he'll ever perform again.
"I'm really frightened," Osbourne tells Diane Sawyer tonight on "Primetime Thursday" (10 p.m. on ABC),"because music is the love of my life . . . and performing . . . the thought of not being able to do that anymore frightens me."
"I've been fighting that battle [against addiction] for nearly 20 years," he says. "I can't just stop."
Tonight's interview is Sawyer's first prime-time chat with the Osbournes, who were interviewed by Barbara Walters the first two times they appeared on ABC, in September 2003 and November 2002.
